MEDICAL EXAMS

A medical exam includes any issue that we may experience outside of "normal". These symptoms include discomfort, redness, or pain in the eyes that may indicate (but are not limited to) dry eyes, allergies, or a corneal infection. Sudden phenomena such as floaters or flashes in our field of vision also indicate reasons for being seen as soon as possible to rule-out potential sight-threatening causes.

Certain medical conditions such as diabetes, cholesterol, high blood pressure, and autoimmune disorders may pose additional risks of ocular complications; therefore, seeing your optometrist for an annual medical evaluation is crucial for co-managing your overall health with your primary care.
